What the test checks

CEFR levels and SFI courses
The test places you on the CEFR scale used across Europe. Many people in Sweden know the SFI courses better, so we show both.

Questions and answers
Is the level test free?
Yes. The level test is free and you don't need an account. If you want to keep learning with Skrol afterwards, you can start a free trial — no credit card needed.
How long does it take?
About 15 minutes. The test adapts to your answers and stops as soon as it has a clear picture of your level.
Is the result an official certificate?
No. It's an estimate from a short test — not an official certificate, an SFI grade or a course credit. It is a good guide to where to start learning.
How do CEFR levels relate to SFI?
SFI has four courses, A to D. Roughly, A1 corresponds to SFI kurs A/B, A2 to kurs C and B1 to kurs D, the level SFI finishes at. B2 and C1 go beyond SFI.
What is CEFR?
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages describes language ability in six levels, from A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery). This test measures from A1 to C1.
Can I stop and continue later?
Yes. Your answers are saved as you go. Come back on the same device within 7 days and you can continue where you left off.
What happens to my answers?
Your answers are used to work out your level and to improve the test. We don't ask for your name or email. Results that aren't linked to an account are deleted after 90 days.
The result is an estimate from a short test, not an official certificate. The SFI comparison is approximate.
