What Skrol is

Skrol brings four ways to learn into one app: a guided course of short lessons, AI conversations about everyday situations, Swedish videos with translated subtitles, and word practice that brings words back when it's time to review them.

The lessons are about the situations people meet here: the health centre and 1177, BankID and the authorities, the bank, school, housing and work.

Who it is for

Adults learning Swedish from the beginning, people who have recently moved to Sweden, and SFI students who want more practice between classes. Because the app works in English, Swedish and Arabic, you can start even when your Swedish is still very limited.

In English, Swedish or Arabic

You can use the whole app in English, Swedish or Arabic, and the Arabic version reads from right to left. The videos have an English or Arabic translation under the Swedish subtitles, and the AI can give its feedback in English or Arabic.

Lesson explanations are written in English, and in Arabic for learners who use the app in Arabic.

How the course is made

The guided course follows the CEFR levels used across Europe, one everyday theme a week. Each lesson is written for Skrol around a real situation in Sweden, and its explanations and practice drills are written and reviewed before they are published.

AI is used where it helps you practise: as the other person in role-play conversations, and as a teacher that checks the sentences you write and say and explains what to change.

Independent

Skrol is an independent app. It is not an official SFI course and is not connected to any municipality, school or authority. Names such as 1177, Skatteverket and Försäkringskassan appear because the lessons teach the Swedish you need with them.
