Watch, listen, speak
Watch
Watch with the Swedish subtitles and a translation in English or Arabic under them. Tap a word you don't know to see what it means.
Listen
Listen to short clips of the video again. Each one comes with an exercise: pick what you heard, fill in a missing word, put the words in order or type the line.
Speak
Repeat each sentence after it plays. The app compares your words with the subtitle and shows which ones were right.
Made for learning
A translation under the Swedish
The Swedish subtitles have an English or Arabic translation under them, so you always know what is being said.
Tap any word
Tap a word in the subtitles to hear it and see what it means, then save it to your word practice.
Slow it down
Play a video at 0.75× speed when the Swedish goes too fast.
Videos by level
The videos are grouped by level, so you can start with simple Swedish and move up.
Inside the player
The tools for studying a video sit right under it.
Read along
Open the list of every line to read the whole video with its translation, and tap a line to play the video from there.
Line by line
Go back a line, hear the one you just missed again or skip ahead, with a tap or from the keyboard.
Hide the translation
Hide the translation to try with the Swedish alone, and bring it back when you need it. The app remembers your choice for the next video.
Subtitles in full screen
In full screen, the Swedish line and its translation stay over the picture, and you can still tap a word to see what it means.
How to learn with a video
One way to get the most out of a video:
Follow the story
Watch it once with the translation, without stopping, just to follow what happens.
Watch it again
Hide the translation and watch again. When you miss a line, go back and hear it once more.
Keep the useful words
Tap the words you don't know, and add the ones you want to keep to your word practice.
Practise
Do the Listen exercises, then say the lines yourself in the Speak step.
Come back later
Watch the same video again a few days later. You will catch more than the first time.
Why videos help
Real Swedish is faster and less tidy than textbook Swedish. Short videos with subtitles let you hear how people actually speak, while the translation keeps you from getting lost.
Words you save from a video come back later in your word practice, so what you hear once becomes vocabulary you keep.
